Key findings
Purchase history: 1-3 months without prior spend vs 3-6 months with history
Among Rolex buyers who received a watch, those with no prior purchases typically waited 1-3 months (n=692) versus 3-6 months for buyers with prior purchases (n=618). History often shapes whether an offer arrives at all more than how fast the watch arrives once offered. The tracker also accepts reports from buyers who are still waiting or were never offered, so survivorship is trackable rather than hidden.
Wait-time reality check: 59% under ~3 months, 13% a year or longer
Of 1,292 usable Rolex reports, 59% received the watch within about three months and 13% waited a year or longer (n=1,292). Families with the longest typical waits in current quotable data include Sky-Dweller (6-12 months, n=21); GMT-Master II (3-6 months, n=92). Short and long waits both show up - for different models.
Regional spread: 15 regions worldwide
GMT-Master II: typically 1-3 months in Midwest US vs 6-12 months in West Coast US (n=12 and n=16 in the 12-month window). Across 15 regions worldwide (n=1,596 sitewide reports), allocation is local - identical references routinely show different waits by region.

Data is collected from public buyer accounts and direct submissions, not dealer marketing.
Submissions are reviewed before publishing; each row keeps a source field so figures stay traceable.
Typical-wait medians use a trailing 12-month quotable window; report counts cited as coverage are all-time unless labeled otherwise.
Limitations: self-reported data and survivorship bias - mitigated by tracking “Still waiting” and “Declined / never offered” outcomes alongside completed waits.
Unghosted is an independent, community-driven tracker of authorized dealer wait times across eight luxury watch brands - Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Tudor, Vacheron Constantin, F.P. Journe, Rexhep Rexhepi, and A. Lange & Söhne. Buyers report what they bought, how long they waited, where they bought, and whether they had purchase history. The site publishes live medians, distributions, and regional breakdowns so collectors and journalists can see allocation reality without dealer spin.
Tim O., founder, Unghosted. Tim built Unghosted after sitting on a Rolex waitlist with no information about whether his wait was normal. More background on the About page.
