Tudor was founded by Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf in 1926 as a more accessible alternative to Rolex. For decades, Tudor watches were available on demand at any authorized dealer. That changed in 2024 when the Black Bay Chrono Flamingo Pink became one of the most hyped watches of the year, followed by the Flamingo Blue in January 2025.

Tudor is now developing allocation patterns that mirror Rolex, with certain references limited to roughly 100 units per year and ADs requiring purchase history before offering them. The brand celebrated its 100th anniversary at Watches and Wonders 2026 with the new Monarch collection, a Black Bay Ceramic with ceramic bracelet, and updated Black Bay 58 models with Master Chronometer movements.

Black Bay Chrono Flamingo Blue / Pink

The watches that gave Tudor a waitlist. The Flamingo Blue launched in January 2025 on David Beckham's wrist and immediately became one of the hardest Tudor watches to acquire. Community reports and AD feedback suggest production is limited to roughly 100 units per year for each colorway.

Wait times of 3-6+ months are common, and some ADs require 3+ Tudor purchases before they'll offer one. One buyer reported having to buy another Tudor specifically to get allocated the Flamingo.

Black Bay 58

Tudor's most popular everyday watch at 39mm. The 2026 refresh brought Master Chronometer certification, a thinner case, and new bracelet options. Most Black Bay 58 references are available within days to weeks at authorized dealers.

The blue version was discontinued at Watches and Wonders 2026, replaced by the Black Bay 54 in blue.

Black Bay Pro / GMT

The Black Bay Pro (39mm, fixed GMT bezel) and the new Black Bay 58 GMT are generally available without significant waits. These are not allocation pieces. Most ADs have them in stock or can order them within weeks.

Pelagos

Tudor's serious dive watch in titanium. The Pelagos 39, Pelagos FXD, and the new Pelagos Ultra are all accessible at ADs with minimal wait times. The limited edition Pelagos FXD Chrono cycling editions (300 pieces each) sell out quickly but are niche collector pieces.

Monarch (new 2026)

Tudor's 100th anniversary collection with an integrated bracelet design, Master Chronometer movement, and T-fit clasp. Priced at $5,875. Too new for meaningful wait time data, but as a new launch expect some initial demand pressure. Early allocation patterns will develop through 2026.

Ranger

Available on demand at most ADs. No waitlist. A solid everyday watch at $3,550-$3,925 depending on strap.

How Tudor Allocation Works

Tudor sells through both Tudor boutiques and multi-brand authorized dealers (shared with Rolex). Unlike AP's boutique-only model, the AD network is wide. Most Tudor watches remain buy-on-demand, which is a significant part of the brand's appeal.

The exception is the Flamingo Chrono series. These limited-production models have introduced Rolex-style allocation dynamics to a brand that historically never had them. Some ADs now ask for purchase history before offering a Flamingo, and the Frankfurt boutique incident (where a buyer was told "we don't sell to people with only one or two Tudors") shows that allocation culture is spreading within the brand.

For collectors coming from the Rolex world, Tudor remains dramatically more accessible. Most of the catalog is available without games, without spend history, and without waiting.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the Tudor waitlist in 2026?

For most Tudor watches, there is no meaningful waitlist. Black Bay 58, Pelagos, Ranger, and most configurations are available on demand or within days. The exception is the Black Bay Chrono Flamingo series, which carries wait times of 3-6+ months and may require purchase history.

Is Tudor hard to buy compared to Rolex?

Not even close. The vast majority of Tudor watches can be purchased on a walk-in visit. Only the Flamingo Chrono models have Rolex-like allocation pressure, and even those are easier than a Rolex Submariner.

Do you need purchase history for Tudor?

For most models, no. For the Black Bay Chrono Flamingo Blue and Pink, some ADs are beginning to require 2-3 prior Tudor purchases. This varies significantly by location and individual AD.

What is the new Tudor Monarch?

The Monarch is Tudor’s 100th anniversary collection launched at Watches and Wonders 2026. It features an integrated bracelet design with a faceted case, Master Chronometer movement, and T-fit clasp at $5,875. Early wait time data is still developing.
